James Gunn confirmed that The Suicide Squad, like most comic book movies, will feature a post-credits scene.
"I hope this isn't the most important question, as I think the movie itself is what matters most, but yes," Gunn tweeted in response to a fan asking if there would be a post-credits scene.
Neither the Suicide Squad franchise nor Gunn himself are strangers to end-credits scenes. The original Suicide Squad movie featured a mid-credits rendezvous between Amanda Waller and Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne, which involved Waller handing Wayne files regarding the metahumans that would eventually comprise the Justice League. Gunn, meanwhile, incorporated stingers in both of his Guardians of the Galaxy films, with the second installment containing a whopping five scenes throughout the credits.
Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Michael Rooker as Savant, Flula Borg as Javelin, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Mayling NG as Mongal, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, Alice Braga as Solsoria, Sylvester Stallone as King Shark, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Nathan Fillion as TDK, Sean Gunn as Weasel, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and John Cena as Peacemaker, with Steve Agee, Taika Waititi and Storm Reid. The film arrives in theaters and on HBO Max Aug. 6.
