An exciting update has been revealed for the second season of Twisted Metal. Along with an updated release window being announced, a new teaser trailer for Season 2 has also been released.
On YouTube, Peacock dropped the new trailer for Twisted Metal Season 2, teasing the continued chaos put on display by Sweet Tooth and other post-apocalyptic drivers. It reveals that Season 2 is set to debut on Peacock in "Summer 2025" with a specific date yet to be announced. It's clear from the new trailer that Season 2 will be no less violent, and even perhaps much more so, than Season 1. Fans can check out the trailer below.
The official synopsis for Season 2 of Twisted Metal reads, "Following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface."
Calypso Has Arrived in Season 2 of Twisted Metal
The second season will adapt the deadly car combat tournament that served as the foundation of the original video games. In the games, the tournaments are orchestrated by the mysterious Calypso, played in the season by Anthony Carrigan (Gotham, Barry, Superman). Carrigan's Calypso is shown in the new trailer revealing a clear look at the character. The teaser also ends with a look at a man's arm being placed into a large wheel, which fans of the games will certainly recognize as a hint at Axel's debut.
"I think everybody's curious to know how we’d realize Axel and what that would look like," costume designer Liz Vastola previously teased to Screen Rant about the fan favorite character's arrival in Season 2. "I just want to know what that would potentially be."

The series was created by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith. It stars Anthony Mackie as John Doe, Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, Joe "Samoa Joe" Seanoa as Sweet Tooth (with Will Arnett providing his voice), Thomas Haden Church as Agent Stone, Neve Campbell as Raven, Mike Mitchell as Stu, Richard Cabral as Loud, Chloe Fineman as Bloody Mary, Creek Wilson as Mr. Slam, Jason Mantzoukas as Preacher, and Peg O'Keef as Granny Dread. Season 2 newcomers include Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, Tina Okoye, Saylor Bell Curda, Michael James Shaw, and Lisa Gilroy. The roles they are playing are not yet clear.
Season 2 of Twisted Metal will debut in Summer 2025; Season 1 is streaming on Peacock.
