Thor 4 Merch Reveals Jane Foster’s God of Thunder

A crew t-shirt from the recently wrapped filming of Thor: Love and Thunder apparently has offered up our best look at the design of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster as Thor and the costume appears to be very comic book accurate.

The Twitter account, Thor: Love and Thunder News, shared the alleged design of Jane Foster's Thor and it should look quite familiar to comic book fans.

The design is quite reminiscent of that of comic book superstar artist Russell Dauterman's original design of Jane Foster as Thor in The Thor comic book back in 2014, working with star writer Jason Aaron.

The t-shirt also shows new armor designs for Thor and Valkyrie, but the Jane Foster Thor design is the biggest surprise, as Marvel has kept the design a well-hidden secret to this point (if are to believe that the t-shirt is accurate, and since these are crew t-shirts, that seems to be likely).

There were a few other t-shirts released as part of the crew's celebration of the end of film, although these tended to be less specific to the design of the film and more just generic Thor designs and an amusing riff on the What If...? issue that first saw Jane Foster take on the hammer of Thor filled with references to the crew of the film.

An interesting wrinkle (pun unintended) of the design being revealed in this way is that the wrinkles on the shirt make it a bit confusing as to whether there are cracks in Jane's hammer or not. It appears as though her hammer is cracked, but that could just be the folds of the shirt. If it is cracked, it is possible that Jane is wielding Thor's original hammer, Mjolnir, re-formed after it was destroyed by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe as Zeus. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
