The Sandman Star Shares First Quantum Leap Reboot Poster

Mason Alexander Park -- known for their role as Desire of the Endless in Netflix's adaptation of The Sandman -- has revealed the first official poster for NBC's upcoming revival of Quantum Leap, in which they star opposite series lead Raymond Lee.

Park shared the poster -- which features Lee's Dr. Ben Song -- on Twitter. "So excited to be a part of this chaos," they wrote. "[Raymond Lee] is a star, but don't tell him I said that. Quantum Leap begins airing in a few short weeks!!!"

The new Quantum Leap is slated to premiere on NBC on Monday, Sept. 19. The series will also stream on Peacock. In it, Lee stars as Ben Song, a "highly-intelligent quantum physicist who jumps through time to explore the mysteries of the original Quantum Leap experiment." Park, meanwhile, stars as Ian Wright, "[a]nother central member of the Quantum Leap project" and "the lead programmer who rebuilds 'Ziggy,' an AI unit that provides crucial information about Ben's leaps through time." The series also stars Ernie Hudson as Herbert "Magic" Williams, Nanrisa Lee as Jenn Chou and Caitlin Bassett as Addison Augustine.

Quantum Leap Is Back

Starring Scott Bakula in the lead role of Dr. Sam Beckett, the original Quantum Leap aired on NBC for 97 episodes across five seasons from 1989 to 1993. Like Ben, Sam was a quantum physicist who found himself trapped in the past, "leaping" into the bodies of others as he tried to get back home. Bakula was joined in the series by Dean Stockwell as Albert "Al" Calavicci, Deborah Pratt as the aforementioned Ziggy, Dennis Wolfberg as Irving "Gooshie" Gushman and Candy Ann Brown as Dr. Verbena Beeks.

It was first reported in January 2020 that NBCUniversal was considering a Quantum Leaprevival for Peacock. In September 2021, Bakula himself revealed that there were "significant conversations" about bringing the show back. These murmurs culminated in the Quantum Leap reboot getting a pilot order at NBC this past January before ultimately being ordered to series in May, with Lee attached to star. That said, due to other commitments, Bakula is not currently involved in the new Quantum Leap.

Quantum Leap premieres Sept. 19 on NBC.
