The Marvel’s Spider-Man Series Hasn't Seen the Last of Peter Parker, Yuri Lowenthal Says

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is rumored to already be in the works, and fans are worried about Peter Parker's role in the fourth game in the franchise. In the last entry of the series, after Peter (Yuri Lowenthal) and Miles (Nadji Jeter) defeat Veom the OG Spider-Man decides to hang up the websuit — at least for a little while

With the introduction of Cindy Moon at the end of the last game, some may have suspected that Peter’s role would be pushed back to a supporting role (non-playable). Well, Yuri Lowenthal has got the big word about Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and it's not bad news — in fact, for once, it's good.

Why Fans Are Worried About How Many Spider-Men Will Be in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Closed a Chapter For Peter Parker

Spider-Man 2 saw both Peter and Miles go through their biggest trials as Spider-Man to date. Peter had to deal with the difficulties of bonding with the Venom symbiote, and trying to save his friend Harry from its influence. Miles had to deal with emotions from interacting with Martin Li, the man who killed his father and overcome his anger and guilt.

The end result of both actions sees Miles' powers becoming much stronger and Peter gaining control of his own white venom suit — after they defeat Kraven and his army of Hunters as well as Venom's symbiote invasion of New York. The end of the game sees Peter taking up a temporary retirement to spend more time with Mary Jane, whilst Miles takes on the larger role of being the main Spider-Man for once.

We also get a tease of a mournful Norman Osbourne going to Spider-Man 1 villain Doctor Otto Octavius to aid him in finding Spider-Man who he holds responsible for Harry's death. There was also the introduction of Cindy Moon via Miles' mother's new boyfriend (she's his daughter). With the sequel to the game gearing up fans wondered just how active Peter Parker would be and if would he be a playable character in the game.

The Fate of Peter Parker In Spider-Man 3

Parker's Actor Yuri Lowenthal Weighs In

Well, Lowenthal knows all, and while he hasn’t said much, he has stated:

‘…yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.’

This confirms that Peter Parker’s time outside of being a Vigilante won’t be permanent, and the original web-slinger will be back at it to face whatever foes the duo are due to take on — one of them likely to be The Green Goblin, who has been long teased to appear. Though aside from Norman Osbourne, there are few other confirmed villains, maybe we'll get to have a re-match with Doc Oc given he's now in league with Osbourne.
