Your Nerd Side Halloween Special part 02
Recently, it was reported that most of the films set in the DCEU would be coming to Netflixnext month, from Man of Steel to The Suicide Squad. According to a subsequent report from What's On Netflix, two more DCEU films are also set to be added in December, with Shazam!and Black Adam joining the list. The report also notes that last year's unconnected films The Batman and DC League of Super-Pets were also set to hit Netflix as well.
The other DC movies that were previously reported to be coming to Netflix starting on Dec. 1 include Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Birds of Prey, and Wonder Woman 1984. With Shazam! and Black Adam reportedly joining these films, the only DCEU movies that will be missing are Aquaman, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, and Blue Beetle. The four-hour extended cut of Justice League, known as Zack Snyder's Justice League, will also be excluded, remaining exclusive to streaming on Max.
The DCEU Will Conclude in December
Bringing the majority of the DCEU movies to Netflix coincides with the closure of the universe the same month. As of now, the final film that's a part of that universe is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom with the sequel set to be released on Dec. 22. Unless the film manages to become a billion-dollar movie like its predecessor, it will most likely be the end of the DCEU, as James Gunn and Peter Safran are focused on moving forward with their newly-established DCU. However, while it will be a different cinematic universe, Gunn has confirmed that there will be several actors that will be reprising their roles, but that will reportedly not include any of the members of the Justice League.
Meanwhile, the world of The Batman is just getting started with its expansion. A sequel to the hit film is currently in the works with a planned October 2025 release date. There is also a spinoff series in development at Max that focuses on Colin Farrell's Penguin, set after the events of The Batman as serving to bridge the gap between the movies. If these are successful, it's likely that more movies and spinoffs will continue to be made for what's considered to be a DC Elseworlds movie.
The Batman Part II will be released on Oct. 3, 2025.
