Our first full look at Tatiana Maslany's She-Hulk recently surfaced on Amazon -- before it was supposed to, by the looks of it.
Back in November, Marvel Studios debuted the first glimpses at the eponymous hero of it upcoming Disney+ original series She-Hulk. However, the promotional clips did not show her face. In her most prominent appearance, the Jade Giantess was facing away from the camera and could only be seen from the neck down.
However, a collection of officially licensed She-Hulk beverage containers made by Thermos were recently listed on Amazon. The listings were hastily deleted, though not before the relevant images were saved and spread around online. The product that's gotten the most attention features full artwork of Maslany's She-Hulk, who is seen wearing the same comics-inspired outfit from the first-look clips. Several other images have made the rounds as well, including of one product that seems to highlight the duality of She-Hulk and Jennifer Walters.
Created by Stan Lee and John Buscema, Jennifer "Jen" Walters/She-Hulk first appeared in 1980's Savage She-Hulk #1. Jen is a lawyer and the cousin of the original Hulk, Bruce Banner. In the comics, Jen gains the same powers as Bruce after she sustains life-threatening injuries as the result of a gunshot, forcing her cousin to perform an emergency blood transfusion with his own, gamma-irradiated blood. Shulkie would later differentiate herself from Bruce by carving out her own identity as a comedic, fourth wall-breaking superhero.
Marvel Studios' live-action She-Hulk series for Disney+ was first announced in August 2019. In September 2020, Maslany was officially cast in the lead role of Jen Walters/She-Hulk. She will be joined by Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstay Mark Ruffalo, who reprises his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk.
Ruffalo recently teased major scenes between Jen and Bruce, stating that he was excited to see Maslany carry on the Hulk legacy. "Tatiana Maslany is frickin' legendary as the She-Hulk," Ruffalo told Access. "I'm passing the banner onto her... There's some really good, funny, cool, long, long scenes between Professor [Hulk] and her. We've never really seen the Hulk interact with people the way he does in that show. It'll be really interesting."
In addition to Maslany and Ruffalo, She-Hulk sees Tim Roth reprise his role as Emil Blonsky/Abomination. The upcoming series also stars Jameela Jamil as Titania, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Amelia and Ginger Gonzaga as Jen's best friend. Meanwhile, Anais Almonte and Josh Segarra have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Marvel Studios' She-Hulk is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
