McFarlane Toys Reveals DC Super Powers Reverse Flash Figure

This weeks Your Nerd Side Show:

McFarlane Toys revealed a first look at an upcoming action figure of its DC Comics Super Powers collection, The Flash's Reverse Flash.

The plastic figure features the character of Eobard Thawne in his famous yellow suit. McFarlane Toys also revealed that the action figure will be available exclusively at Walmart but did not provide its exact release date (at the time of writing).

The Super Powers Collection originated in the 1980s from Kenner Products. The original series released 34 figures and eight vehicles as well as a play set and carrying case over the course of three years. McFarlane Toys is keeping the legacy and nostalgia alive, and its new collection rebooted the line starting in 2022. Some of DC's biggest characters, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are already available in the new McFarlane Toys line. Also included are villains like Darkseid and Deathstroke and vehicles including the Batmobile and Invisible Jet. McFarlane Toys has numerous other figures planned for the future and available for pre-order, including a Peacemaker, Judo Master and Vigilante three pack.

Reverse Flash's Super Powers

The character of Eobard Thawne has long been one of The Flash's biggest and most powerful villains. Even prior to gaining metahuman powers and access to the Speed Force, Thawne was considered a genius. By harnessing the Speed Force, Reverse Flash is able to travel faster than the speed of light, attack his victims at high speed, run across water, and even phase through solid objects.

Unlike other speedsters, Thawne also possesses the power to both travel through and manipulate time, allowing him to alter history -- something other characters with the Speed Force can only do by facing serious consequences. The villain famously used all the powers at his disposal during DC's Flashpoint, where the character of Barry Allen died leaving Thawne to take his place and wreak havoc. Elements of the Flashpoint storyline were used in the 2023 DC Extended Universe film The Flash starring Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, despite the Reverse Flash not appearing in the film's story.

The upcoming McFarlane Toys DC Super Powers Reverse Flash figure will be available exclusively at Walmart in the near future
