Every Deadpool Variant in Deadpool & Wolverine

When fans learned Deadpool & Wolverine would take the iconic duo through the Multiverse, they were immediately excited. This meant they would get to see different versions of Hugh Jackman's Logan. As expected, that happens, which pays off so much of what occurred in the Fox movies.

Of course, as a massive bonus, this results in a slew of Deadpool variants popping up, too. As director, Shawn Levy, charts this out, it really does feel like a journey that pays proper homage to the comics. With that in mind, here are all the Deadpool variants that show up as Wade and Logan feud with the Time Variance Authority.

Ryan Reynolds Is Deadpool Prime

1

Ryan Reynolds' main Deadpool, aka Deadpool Prime, is the star of the film. He has to find a Logan to replace the dead one on his Earth-10005. It leads to the TVA's Mr. Paradox going to war with Wade and trying to destroy his reality.4

Given how unpredictable the nature of this property is, fans could have seen the Wade from the two previous Deadpool movies being killed and passing the mantle to another Deadpool. But thankfully, the main Wade lasts throughout the entire film. He keeps up the jokes, reminding fans how well Reynolds embodies the character.

Ryan Reynolds Is Nicepool

The first Wade variant that Deadpool and Logan meet when they're pruned and sent to the Void is Nicepool. This is a gentle, hipster version of Wade played by Reynolds. It annoys Deadpool.

He hates Nicepool's demeanor, his gear and his positive outlook on life. Wolverine warns Wade to get it together, however. They need Nicepool's car to take down Emma Corrin's Cassandra Nova. Nicepool creates a few funny scenes, showing Wade what wholesomeness means.

Peggy Is Dogpool

Another reason why Wade hates Nicepool is because Nicepool has a dog, Dogpool. In the comics, Dogpool was part of a cruel animal testing experiment. Deadpool eventually brought the dog into his Deadpool Corps. Here, Wade doesn't like how Dogpool keeps running loose and wants to steal the dog.

It results in Wade using Nicepool as a shield against enemies in the movie's finale. Sadly, Nicepool doesn't have regenerative powers. But his death allows Wade to keep the canine companion and steal Nicepool's guns. In the end, Dogpool brings out the best out of Logan and Wade.

Blake Lively Is Lady Deadpool

For a while, fans speculated if Taylor Swift or Reynolds' wife, Blake Lively, would be revealed as Lady Deadpool (aka Wanda Wilson). When the Deadpool Corps come to hunt Wade and Logan, she never unmasks. But her voice and the credits confirm it's Blake Lively. In the comics, she was a variant who fought her fascist government before joining the Corps.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, she leads the variants on behalf of Cassandra. Lady Deadpool comes off assertive and lethal in the finale. Ironically, Deadpool joked earlier in the movie about how he gets aroused watching Gossip Girl, and that he didn't want Lively to know he spent many close moments with Logan. It's breaking the Fourth Wall with a romantic spin on Reynolds' marriage.

Inez Reynolds Is Kidpool

Kidpool was a cute kid that Wade recruited in the comics to save the Multiverse. Kidpool was quite the brat, hating being taught by Charles Xavier's school for gifted mutants. In Deadpool & Wolverine, Kidpool is a foul-mouthed member of the Corps.

Kidpool curses out Wade and Logan in the final fight. She is played by Reynolds and Lively's seven-year-old daughter, Inez. It's one of the cutest yet most crude MCU moments ever.

Olin Reynolds Is Babypool

Another variant seen in the finale is Babypool. The toddler is seen making cooing noises and distracting Wade and Wolverine. Babypool is a new character created for the movie, although Skottie Young did a Marvel variant cover depicting this baby in the past.

Reynolds keeps it in the family. Babypool is portrayed by the couple's one-year-old child, Olin, in one of the film's funniest scenes.

Nathan Fillion Is Headpool

Nathan Fillion is no stranger to the MCU, as he was in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. In Deadpool & Wolverine, he plays Headpool -- a zombified floating Deadpool head.

In comics, this variant came to Earth-616 after an infection broke out on his world. He became an important ally of Wade's. In Deadpool & Wolverine, his background isn't explained. He is just there to curse the heroes and fly around to harm them. He adds a wacky, kooky twist that elicits a lot of laughs.

Matthew McConaughey Is Cowboy Deadpool

In the comics, Cowboy Deadpool, aka Deadpool Kid, was a cowboy and gunslinger Wade shot in the head. He'd end up working with Dreadpool and the evil Deadpools to feud with the good Deadpools.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, this Western-based Deadpool is voiced by Matthew McConaughey. He also talks some trash in his iconic Southern drawl. In time, he gets sliced up with the other Corps members in the finale. He's one variant who deserved more screen time.

Paul Mullins Is Welshpool

Paul Mullins plays for Wrexham, a football club in Wales that is owned by American actor Rob McElhenney and Reynolds. He has played for the club since 2021, and was a key part of the documentary, Welcome to Wrexham, about the purchase and the club's rise to EFL League One.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, he plays a new Deadpool. This is a football hooligan-inspired Deadpool, who has the Welsh flag emblazoned on his chest. He doesn't speak, but he comes for violence. With the red dragon on his chest, he is quite intimidating. This is a diehard Easter egg for football fans, reaffirming how passionate Reynolds is about his projects.

Ronin-Pool Is a Major Threat

The comics had Watari, aka Ronin-Pool, as a samurai-influenced warrior from feudal-era Japan. Wade recruited him for the Corps, although they ran into differences occasionally.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, Watari is rocking the same costume from the comics. He doesn't say much. He also makes an impression in the gory fight when they attack Wade and Logan. He has a terrifying aura.

Deadpool 2099 Unleashes Hell

Deadpool 2099 (aka Warda Wilson) is a futuristic Deadpool variant. She was the daughter of that world's Wade and a supernatural queen, Shiklah. She feuded with Deadpool and his adopted daughter, Ellie, for a bit before finding her way back to the light.

Here, Deadpool 2099 uses her tech and Iron Man-style armor. She embraces the fight, but is also defeated. Luckily, she regenerates with the rest of the batch. Her intimidation factor is just as high as Watari's, but with a better visual design and costume.

Golden Age Deadpool Goes For the Jugular

The Golden Age Deadpool (aka Wheezy Wilson) was the nephew of former President Woodrow Wilson in the comics. He was sent off for military duty, only to become a charred super-soldier the Germans used. In time, he'd redeem himself and become a hero, although his constant smoking damaged his lungs.

He's in this movie's Corps, rocking his gas mask, old-school uniform, and cutlasses instead of katanas. It's a vintage look from the early 1900s that translates well to the big screen. It's made for fans who love Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. This is another deadly variant who deserved more screen time.

Zenpool Somehow Manages to Embrace War

The source material's Zenpool was the Prime Deadpool who worked with Scarlet Witch and Dr. Doom to fight the Red Onslaught in the AXIS event. However, a spell backfired, making him a pacifist who didn't like fighting. It completely flipped Wade's persona. In time, another spell reverted him to his past persona.

In this film, Zenpool is a separate variant. He has his stick and wants to take down Wolverine and Wade. In this case, the Corps and Cassandra comprise his main mission. Zenpool's look and overall aura add much more dynamism, as he stands out with his black-and-white color scheme.

Peterpool Saves the Day

Rob Delaney's Peter isn't a Deadpool by nature. But he wields Wade's original costume on Earth-10005. He convinces the Corps to stand down. They do so and celebrate him. They all lost their Peter, but appreciate that a Peter Prime exists: a pure, selfless and kind human being.

Later, even the TVA recognizes Peter as an important Deadpool, aka Peterpool. He lets it be known that they shouldn't punish Logan or Wade, as this duo saved the Multiverse from Paradox and Cassandra. To that point, Peterpool is indeed one of the most important Deadpools around, doubling down on what heart and soul mean.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in theaters.
