The Cal Kestis legacy lightsaber hilt has finally landed at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
According to the official Disney Parks Blog, the Cal Kestis legacy lightsaber hilt will be available for purchase at Dok-Ondar's (located inside Galaxy's Edge) at both Disneyland Resort and Disney World Resort starting this Friday, March 25. Cameron Monaghan, who portrays Cal in the hit Star Wars video game Jedi: Fallen Order, even paid a visit to Galaxy's Edge in order to celebrate the launch.
In Fallen Order, Cal -- a Jedi Padawan who survived Order 66 -- wields a blue lightsaber that has a damaged hilt. This is because it was once a double-bladed lightsaber that belonged to his deceased master, Jaro Tapal. Throughout the course of the game, players can upgrade Cal's lightsaber by restoring its second blade, adding split saber functionality and changing the blade color.
On that note, the Cal Kestis legacy lightsaber hilt at Galaxy's Edge actually comes with a dual lightsaber adapter. So, those who purchase a second hilt can connect the two and wield the saber as Jaro Tapal once did.
Disney Parks held a vote in 2020 to decide which famous lightsaber would be next to join the Galaxy's Edge collection, with Cal's ultimately reigning victorious over sabers belonging to the likes of Anakin Skywalker, Qui-Gon Jinn, Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus and Lord Corvax. Cal's saber was originally slated for a Fall 2021 launch and was even displayed at Dok-Ondar's for a time, though the product was ultimately delayed.
Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, Jedi: Fallen Orderinitially launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on Nov. 15, 2019. It was subsequently released for Google Stadia, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Set in the official Star Wars canon, Fallen Order takes place five years after the events of the 2005 film Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
The game follows Cal Kestis (Monaghan), a former Jedi Padawan who narrowly escaped Order 66 and had to go into hiding on the scrap planet of Bracca. Everything changes when Cal is tracked down by a pair of Inquisitors, including the game's main antagonist, the Second Sister (Elizabeth Grullón). He narrowly escapes after being rescued by former Jedi Knight Cere Junda (Debra Wilson), who convinces Cal to join her quest to try and rebuild the Jedi Order.
