Fans got an early glimpse at The Boys Season 5 today, courtesy of Antony Starr. As filming gets underway in Toronto, the actor took to Instagram to share an image of himself in full Homelander regalia on what appears to be a sound stage set.
"Greetings and peace from season 5," Starr wrote. The carousel post was complimented by a lengthy caption offering insights into the shoot, and additional content from the previous season. A surprise delivery of unreleased concept art for a scrapped sidekick, "Homeboy," in full costume was included, with Starr noting the artwork was "Homie's fav design" and claiming he laughed harder at the outfit "than anything in this show." Another image confirms Homelander's father role will continue getting screentime, showcasing Starr posing with Cameron Crovetti, who plays his on-screen son, Ryan, and promises there's still time for a Homeboy reveal. Crovetti hinted at the possibility, commenting on the post:

The primary photo shows no modifications made to Homelander's iconic blue, red, and gold outfit. The lack of change might surprise fans, who have speculated the character's expanding political influence might mean new threads for Season 5.
Though The Boys won't deliver a new costume to Homelander, Season 5 will bring new cast members. The series has fleshed out its cast since the Season 4 finale, recently announcing a reunion of former Supernatural actors Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, joining Jensen Ackles in still-disclosed roles.

Production on Season 5 began in November 2024. Showrunner Eric Kripke, who revealed the first episode's title as "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite," in an Instagram post of his own, discussed the upcoming conclusion to the hit Prime Video series, stating, "Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it," to TV Guide.
The Boys Season 5 does not yet have an official release date but will presumably hit Prime Video sometime in 2026.
