According to various Bloomberg analysts, the next Nintendo console will be more expensive and successful than the original Switch. Although many of them feel that the price is going to be higher than the original Nintendo Switch, they still feel confident of its upcoming success.
One analyst, Hideki Yasuda, feels that the console is going to be between $400 and $500 at launch due to the improved chips, making it significantly pricier than the original Switch, which launched at $299. "The original Switch's Nvidia chip is estimated to cost $80 per unit, while the Switch 2's chip is likely to be in the $130-$150 range."
While chips are going to be a factor in the overall price, other things can still have an effect. The ongoing US trade disputes and tariffs could also have an impact on the price of the console, at least for those in the US. Even with those increased prices, there are plenty of factors that could make the Nintendo Switch 2 launch one of the most successful.
How Do Analysts Feel About the Switch 2 Launch?

Despite the increased prices that are being predicted, many analysts feel that the Switch 2 is going to be a major commercial success for a few different reasons. Serkan Toto said that regardless of the price, the console will likely do very well in the first few months.
"We can expect a great software line-up in year one, from new Mario Kart and 3D Mario after eight years to Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4. There will also be third-party support from day one, most probably including blockbusters like Call of Duty," he said.
Having great games to draw players to the platform is going to be a huge asset for Nintendo, with franchises getting titles that players have desperately anticipated for close to a decade. Players always want to try out new content for themselves, and even if they're hesitant to pay the increased price for the console, brand loyalty can be enough to drive people to make those purchases.
Robin Zhu, an analyst from Sanford C Bernstein, said that Nintendo likely has six to eight million units ready for launch, which is around twice the previous Switch's release. On top of that, Zhu also believes that the console will launch in June as was previously rumored, which is an optimal release window given the end of school and being ahead of the holiday season.
Regardless of how much it costs, players are set to dive into the new Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches. With a Nintendo Direct on Apr. 2 to discuss the console, players will likely get a closer look and more details very soon. Until then, players can focus on the ten best Switch games while they wait for the Switch 2.
